Week 4

Hi Parents and Guardians   Next week for the first week in December we will be beginning our Winter Wonderland Program. Students will be able to earn incentives for demonstrating positive behaviors. Students will need to earn set amount of tickers in order to receive the set time for each incentive. Please review the schools expectations and how he/she can earn these incentives daily.  Creating incentives that appeal to the students to establish classroom management and for students requiring intervention encourage good decisions and behaviors, but must be well thought out and consistent to be effective (American Collee of Education, 2018).  We hope all of our students can get an opportunity to earn an incentive during this period. Have a great week! Reference American College of Education (2018). CI5523 Interventions for Students with Challenging Behaviors: Module 4 [Incentives]. Canvas.

Week 3 Challenging Behaviors

Hi Parents and Guardians       Classroom expectations are learned and practiced daily. Each student is expected to follow these expectations during the school day and are encouraged to practice these outside at home and in the community. If a student or your student are in need of a intervention plan we will contact you and begin a collaborated process to ensure your student is able to successfully demonstrate these expectations.  Research suggests that specific actions need to happen to teach students the correct way to be a positive part of a classroom atmosphere (American College of Education, 2018). Our intervention team will be in close contact with you and your student. We strive for all students to be socially, behaviorally and academically successful. Have a great week! Part 2: Extending the Learning – Blog Series

Hi parents and guardians   Please join our district for a Family Wellness Workshop. At this workshop you will be able to learn information about exploring the benefits of social and emotional learning skills at all ages and Adverse Childhood Experiences. Students need to have a strong model of appropriate behavior in the classroom setting. Successful teachers manage their classrooms with well -planned lessons and an environment that is peaceful and conducive to learning (American College of Education, 2018). Students will be far more successful if students have a strong model of appropriate behavior at school, home and out in the community. We look forward to seeing you!
Hi parents and guardians at times our students can present challenging academic and behavior challenges that can come up throughout the school year. Do not be alarmed or panic, our district helps identify these tendencies early and act quickly to help correct the academic or behavior. Our district utilizes Rti which is an educational strategy to help support students in challenging situations. A multi-tiered approach to behavioral instruction and intervention is being implemented in many schools across the country as a means for teachers and schools to establish consistency and a network of support for students (American College of Education, 2018). Once the process is started, teachers and staff will continue to evaluate the effectiveness of those interventions. Reference American College of Education (2021).
